Bonjour Mr. Dabdub, or should I say professor Dabdub? (Please tell me how I should call you)
Call me Prof. Dabdub, Dr. Dabdub, or simply Donald. But don't call me Mr. Dabdub.
I am wondering how in the world I am going to get your books + Compilers. I checked all around Orange County and NO one has it until Friday.
The bookstore has informed me that they will get the textbook on Friday Oct 2. That should be ok. We can survive the 1st week without it. This term most of the Engineering textbooks (as you probably know) will be arriving that date.
I am looking for a FORTRAN compiler to install on my personal computer ...with no luck yet. I checked out the Micro Center and they don't carry any FORTRAN compilers. What compiler (for Win95/98) do you recommend I get? And, where might I find it? (keep in mind, I'm a student on a budget).
I don't support that company in any way and cannot answer
any questions for them. If you have questions about it, contact
them. There are also other (more expensive options) that are
available from the computer store here at UCI. They are located
near the bookstore. The compiler that I use is the one on UNIX systems on UCI.
I just log in remotely from home and it "feels" like I
am in front of the terminal. Going through your class the
first day, I was already lost. I just hope it doesn't get any
worst. Actually it does get much
more challenging. However, if you are a newbie with computers,
you will find that even though the material gets more
challenging, the overall class gets easier for you since you had
to work harder than most people initially. Am I making any sense? It's funny how you lecture in
class today. You start out speaking really fast and with a very
high pitch voice, but gradually turns into a soft quiet whisphers
that is barely noticable. I guess my vocal chords
need some training to endure a two hours workout. Did I tell you
that I have tried several times to train my voice to sing
classical music? It was all a complete disaster. That is why I
only play instrumental classical guitar today. Next time that my volume
goes down just yell in class.... "Hey Donald! Can you please
speak louder" Your first lecture was quite
interesting. . I really enjoying being in your class, it was fun
on the first day. From your introduction in class, I understood
this course will be challenging for many of us. I will try my
best to take on the challenge. Thanks for the kind
comment. I do put quite a bit of time in thinking how I can make
the class challenging and enjoyable at the same time. Your
attitude is what I would recommend most students of MAE-10:
gladly accept the challenges and give your best fight. Does the school support some machines that we
can use? How about printing? Yes, there are several
computer laboratories around that you can use. For complete information about
them

privious link.
